A federal appeals court in Chicago has given pro-fin-syn forces new hope by asking parties to the fin-syn case to file comments supporting or rejecting Hollywood’s request that all 11 judges on the Chi court reconsider the case.

Hollywood’s fin-syn coalition sought a rehearing by the entire Chicago court after a three-judge panel in the same court tossed out revisions made to the 20 -year-old fin-syn rules by the Federal Communications Commission.

Hollywood argues that the three judge panel overstepped its bounds by declaring the FCC’s new rules “unreasoned and unreasonable.”
