Derrick O’Connor, a British actor whose credits include “Lethal Weapon 2,” has filed suit against Fox Broadcasting Co. for allegedly showing his arrest for crimes he didn’t commit on “America’s Most Wanted.”The $ 35 million libel and invasion of privacy suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, stems from a July 3, 1992 episode produced by Fox Television Station Prods. O’Connor — who had fifth billing in the “Lethal Weapon” sequel and has also appeared in the movies “Hope and Glory,” and “Brazil”– contends that he was wrongly arrested May 30, 1992, on a trip to Yosemite National Park and his face was subsequently shown on the Fox program, despite assurances that it would be blocked out. Richard Morse is handling the action, which seeks compensation for the “ruination” of O’Connor’s career as well as punitive damages. Fox declined comment.
