Robinson goes to ‘War’

Former “Night Court” co-star Charlie Robinson has joined the cast of CBS’ new comedy “Love and War,” filling a gap left by the sudden death of John Hancock.

Robinson will play the brother of Hancock’s character who shows up to collect his sibling’s share of the Blue Shamrock, the restaurant/bar that’s run by Susan Dey’s character on the Shukovsky English Entertainment sitcom.

Hancock suffered a fatal heart attack Oct. 12, forcing an interruption in production. Robinson was a regular on “Court” throughout its nine seasons. Fellow “Court” alum Markie Post currently stars in another CBS Monday-night comedy, “Hearts Afire.”
