Oz’s Nine orders 2 shows

Making a significant boost to Australia’s local production roster, the Nine Network has commissioned two new series to air next year.

One is “Snowy,” a 13-episode drama from Simpson Le-Mesurier Films, about the people involved in the epic construction of Australia’s Snowy River dam scheme. Series, which at one stage looked like it had been shelved, begins production in January.

The other is a drama from Village Roadshow Pictures, also starting production early next year.
