CBS has given a back-nine episode order to “Bob,” the new Bob Newhart sitcom from Paramount Network TV, making it the first new series officially picked up by the network for a full 22 episodes.

Among the other new shows whose pick-ups are considered a formality are the Monday comedies “Hearts Afire” and “Love and War.”

“Bob” has averaged a 11.8 rating, 22 share in Nielsen since premiering as part of the Friday lineup–the best numbers recorded by CBS in its slot since “Dallas” aired there more than two years ago, according to Paramount research. The show is from Steinkellners & Sutton Prods. in association with Paramount.

NBC has already given full-season orders to two of its new series, the Sunday block of “Secret Service” and “I Witness Video.”
