The Arts & Entertainment Network yesterday became the latest to join Turner Broadcasting’s lawsuit challenging the recently enacted cable reregulation legislation on the grounds that certain provisions violate the First Amendment.
A&E joins the USA Network, Discovery and E! Entertainment and others in backing Turner’s efforts.
“We have joined the Turner suit for the same reasons A&E actively opposed S. 12,” said Nickolas Davatzes, president of A&E in a statement.
“This law makes cable America’s most micro-managed industry.”
