Sony Pictures Entertainment has boosted Janice Pober to the post of veepee of corporate affairs, bumping her up a notch from her post as executive director of corporate relations.
Pober is assigned to spearhead SPE’s charitable contributions and community relations activities.
She has played an integral role in increasing SPE’s philanthropic activities, including organizing the firm’s sponsorship and participations in the Environmental Media Awards, the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force and the company’s 1992 voter registration drive.
An 11-year industry veteran, Pober started her career as executive assistant to Steven Spielberg at Amblin Entertainment. Her previous credentials include stints in the marketing department of Lorimar Pictures and as director of talent relations for Columbia Pictures Entertainment.
SPE senior veepee of corporate affairs Susan Jameson said in a statement, “Sony Pictures is deeply committed to building long-term partnership with the communities in which it operates worldwide, and Janice is ideally qualified to help us forge these relationships.”
