Richard D. Lindheim has been named exec VP of the Paramount TV Group, reuniting the former Universal TV exec with Kerry McCluggage, as expected (Daily Variety, Aug. 19).
Lindheim will be involved in all areas of the group’s activities, including strategy and planning, reporting to McCluggage.
The two worked together for several years at Universal TV, where McCluggage was president and Lindheim his second-in-command as exec VP of creative affairs since 1987.
The Paramount TV Group encompasses network and cable TV production, domestic syndication, international sales, the studio’s independent TV station group and its interest in the USA Network, an equal partnership with MCA.
After McCluggage left MCA last year, Lindheim took a corporate position as exec VP of the MCA TV Group in June 1991, coinciding with the arrival of new management at U from cable production wing MCA TV Entertainment. MCA said last June that Lindheim had sought release from his contract to “explore some different opportunities,” effective July 15.
