The National Film Board of Canada has appointed Germaine Wong as its Paris representative. Leaving a position as English program branch national marketing manager, she replaces Pierre Ducharme, who returned to Montreal to head up the new distribution and consultation center.

Wong will be responsible for expanding the marketing of NFB films in French-speaking Europe and Africa, in addition to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Iran.

Jonathan Beal has been promoted to New Line Distribution’s VP, Eastern division, based in New York. Beal, who was previously New Line’s Eastern division manager, will be responsible for overseeing the company’s Eastern theatrical distribution division and the New York-based staff of seven. Prior to joining New Line, Beal was Vestron Pictures’ Eastern division manager.

Sandra Ortiz has been named director of business and legal affairs for domestic/international television at Twentieth TV. She previously served as general counsel/director of legal affairs for two years at KCAL-TV.
