CEMA Distribution yesterday tapped Bud O’Shea as senior VP of catalog and new business development, responsible for international exploitation of the company’s library and integration of new configurations like DCC and Mini-Disc into the product stream.
O’Shea, formerly senior VP catalog and video planning at Capitol-EMI Music, will move to CEMA headquarters in Woodland Hills.
He will report to Russ Bach, CEMA president.
CEMA labels include Capitol, EMI Records Group North America (EMI, Chrysalis and SBK Records), Virgin, Sparrow, I.R.S., Blue Note, Liberty, Angel/EMI Classics and Capitol/EMI Latin.
“This move will provide all of the labels distributed by CEMA with a chance to benefit from (O’Shea’s) expertise and enable Bud to better coordinate his efforts on a companywide basis,” Bach said.
Before joining Capitol-EMI in 1991, O’Shea was with MGM/UA Home Video, exiting as president and chief operating officer.
