Rockabilly band leader shot over flap

The leader of a ribald rockabilly band was shot to death in Golden Gate Park after a confrontation with a pigeon lover, authorities said.

Phillip Bury, 38, leader of “Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys,” was shot Saturday as he walked his dog. Michael Kagan was arrested, police said.

Kagan, 37, was known for confronting people whose dogs might frighten the park’s pigeons. Bury was shot during a confrontation with Kagan, police said.

“This guy feeds the pigeons every day. He seems to have problems with dogs that might chase the pigeons,” said homicide inspector Earl Sanders.
