Country superstar Garth Brooks roped in seven trophies at the 1992 Billboard Music Awards last night, including best pop artist and country singles artist.

The Irish rock band U2 captured five awards, including best album rock track for “Mysterious Ways.”

The two-hour ceremony at the Universal Ampitheatre was hosted by Phil Collins and featured live performances by Genesis, Arrested Development, Richard Marx and Boyz II Men.

Winners were based on worldwide record sales, radio airplay and marketplace tallies.
