The Permanent Charities Committee of the Entertainment Industry has established the PCC Scholarship Fund, in association with the UCLA Medical School. The new fund was endowed by an anonymous gift.

Peter Openheimer has been named the initial recipient.

The Motion Picture and Television Fund’s new “Richard Irving Video Library” will be dedicated on Sunday at the Fund’s Woodland Hills campus. The facility commemorates television director and producer Richard Irving and is funded by contributions from the Irving family, industry members and corporations.

Fox Broadcasting Co. has ordered nine additional episodes of the new comedy “Flying Blind,” which is produced by Viacom Prods. in association with Paramount Network TV. The show, which stars Corey Parker, has been averaging a 5.9 rating, 9 share season to date in Nielsen as part of the weblet’s Sunday lineup.
