The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in December and February will distribute to its L.A.-area members a master calendar of special screenings of all films eligible for Oscar nominations, Acad prexy Robert Rehme said Friday.

Around Dec. 1, the Acad will send out a calendar of pix being screened non-commercially by their distribs for Oscar nomination consideration.

A second edition in mid-February will list special screenings of pix receiving nominations.

Rehme said the calendar “will make it easier for our members to catch up on eligible films” by helping them locate screenings held by indies. Similar listings have been sent by the Acad to its New York, San Francisco and London members for several years.

The Acad will continue to publish its traditional calendar of official nominations screenings held in February and March in its Samuel Goldwyn Theater, and that info also will be included in the February edition of the master screening calendar.
