USA Today Sky Radio, a unit of Gannett Co., said it signed an agreement with CBS Radio, a unit of CBS Inc., to broadcast sports programming from Major League Baseball, the National Football League and the National Collegiate Athletic Assn.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In a press release, the unit said its in-flight radio service would broadcast around-the clock news, business, sports and weather reports on selected flights.

ComEnt Funding Corp., a unit of Communications & Entertainment Corp., has made its first third-party production loan.

ComEnt has given Anglo American Film Distributors $ 3.9 million for Michael Schroeder’s “Cyborg II,” which stars Elias Koteas and Jack Palance. The film is being distributed by Trimark in the U.S.

Shamrock Holdings Inc. said it plans to double the number of stations it owns or controls from 14 during the next three years.

On Monday, the Burbank company, which is owned by the Roy E. Disney family, appointed Bill Clark chairman of its Shamrock Broadcasting unit.

The expansion plan takes advantage of new regulations approved by the Federal Communications Commission allowing broadcasters to have more than one station in the same market.
