Showscan Corp. posted a $ 987,000 net loss (21 cents per share) for the second fiscal quarter ended Sept. 30. By comparison, the special venue film company recorded a net loss of $ 622,000 (14 cents ) for the same period last year.
Revenues were $ 3.3 million for the current quarter, more than double sales for the comparable period of $ 1.5 million.
The lower earnings, according to the company, were the result of lower-margin sales. The stock closed down 25 cents to $ 3.37.
Infinity Broadcasting Corp. posted a net income of $ 1.5 million (9 cents a share) for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, compared to a $ 13.3 million (79 cents) in 1991 .
Revenues were up 30.7% to $ 41.7 million, for the period, vs. the same period last year. The increase in revenues, according to the company, were due to the purchase of WFAN-AM last April.
Prism Entertainment Corp. has filed a secondary stock offering with the Securities & Exchange Commission. The new shares are to be sold by two large shareholders in the videotape distributor. The offering of 618,834 common shares have a proposed price of $ 3.12 a share, raises $ 1.9 million. The company said the shares are being sold by Batur Lake Inc. and Betula Holdings Inc. Prism will not receive any of the proceeds.
