TPE Spins Off ‘Preview’

Al Masini’s production company, Television Program Enterprises, is to launch at NATPE a weekly spinoff from its failed firstrun magazine show, “Preview,” in the hopes of salvaging the most well-received elements in the canceled strip.

Called “First Look,” the show will focus on breakthroughs and innovations in science, technology, the arts and daily life. “Preview’s” Chuck Henry and Paula McClure will host.

Per Masini, the so-called “fast facts” and “living” sections of “Preview” consistently rated highly with focus groups throughout the country when “Preview” was being tested.

In addition to “First Look,” T.P.E. is launching the weekly “Amazing Love Stories.” The series will be fronted by Jill St. John.
