Radio Entrances & Exits

Local radio fixture Jess Cain has hung up the microphone after 34 years. He is being replaced by the team of conservative Pat Whidey and liberal Marjorie Claprood. Whitley has been doing a solo act at the station, while Claprood joined after losing her bid for lieutenant governor last fall.

Veteran newsman Maurice Lewis was given the gate at WBCN-FM as host of “The Boston Sunday Review.” He is being replaced by weekday deejay Bradley Jay.

WCRB-FM has replaced departing William Pierce with two voices: Martin Bookspan, “the voice of the New York Philharmonic,” takes over similar chores for the Boston Symphony, while Janice Gray performs a similar function for the Boston Pops.
