Not An Ordinary Joe, Franklin Celebrates 40th

“The Joe Franklin Show” is celebrating its 40th anniversary in May, which will make it the second-longest-running tv show after “Meet The Press.” According to exec producer and side-kick Richard Ornstein, Franklin will conduct his 200,000th interview in late May or early June.

Franklin, whose talk/variety show airs at 1:30 a.m. daily on WWOR-TV, received a lifetime achievement award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the New york area Emmy Awards presentation April 10.
