National Amusements, which has long maintained a more conservative view of the British market than its competitors, is to build a 3,400-seat, 12-screen multiplex in Coventry, England.
National already has 85 screens at seven locations in the U.K. It also owns and operates 595 screens in the U.S.
The Coventry Showcase will be constructed on a 10-acre parcel of land purchased from Bryant Properties Developments. Located adjacent to M6 and M9 freeways outside the town, the cinema also will draw clientele from Birmingham, Leicester and Northampton.
