‘Must-Carry’ Clout

The National Assn. of Broadcasters and the Assn. of Independent Television Stations have united in a bid to wrangle favorable “must-carry” rules out of the FCC.

Must-carry refers to regs that would bar cable companies from summarily removing local broadcast signals from a cable system. INTV has been pushing the FCC to include must-carry lingo in its pending cable “effective competition” rulemaking.
