NBC is near a deal with King World Prods. to take over production of the web’s daytime pilots, “A.M. Assignment” and “Women’s Diaries.” Pilots originally were ordered from producer Mark Monsky. Both shows, part of the net’s planned two-hour infotainment block, are undergoing creative revisions, according to a web spokesman.

Deal would call for Av Westin, KW’s head of reality programming and exec producer on “Inside Edition,” to become exec producer on both shows, with Monsky to retain a co-exec producer title. Westin declined comment, while Monsky said that KW essentially was firmed to come in on the projects but that there were still business matters to be worked out with the network.
