Education Week Set For April

April 15 through 21 has been set as the week for “Education 1st!” – a cooperative venture that will see more than 30 hours of education-themed programming air on the broadcast networks (including FBC), on cable and in syndication.

The concept grew out of a seminar held last summer for net work entertainment presidents to discuss ways to address the education crisis in primetime. It was championed largely by NBC Entertainment Group chairman Brandon Tartikoff.

The nets and FBC each pledged to air at least eight hours of education-related programming during the week.
