Big Apple Emmys

The N.Y. Chapter of The National Academy of TV Arts & Sciences announced its 1989-90 Emmy nominees. WCBS leads list with 43 nominations.

Second is WNBC with 27. WWOR led indies with 18, followed by WPIX with 11 and WNYW with 10. Pubcaster WNET grabbed nine. MSG led local cable channels with four.

WABC, the market leader, had a paltry 2. But unlike its competition, the station refuses to pay Emmy entrance fees.
