Roberts Communication, former owner of KVEG-AM, was placed into involuntary bankruptcy by a federal judge, despite efforts for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Several creditors urged U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Clive to grant relief, and 28 former station employees were aided by the court.
KVEG was acquired in December 1990 by Bel Air Communications. The 50,000-watt AMer has a sports, talk and entertainment format. Richard Grisar, Bel Air prez and general manager, said Roberts’ bankruptcy will not hurt the station’s operation.
