Ad Rates At FCC

The FCC is expected to rule that it has full jurisdiction to resolve disputes over ad rates charged to politicians by broadcasters. This would be a victory for broadcasters shaken by an Alabama county judge’s decision that the FCC does not have “exclusive power” to settle ad disputes.

FCC members James Quello and Ervin Duggan earlier indicated support and sources say commissioner Sherrie Marshall is leaning in that direction. Also, chairman Al Sikes has apparently done an about-face and now favors FCC jurisdiction.
