100 Years Of Practice

WNET is devoting a sizable block of programming to the Carnegie Hall centennial. The festivities begin May 3 with the docu “Carnegie Hall At 100: A Place Of Dreams.” On May 5, the station broadcasts “The Carnegie Hall Restoration: A 28-Week Miracle,” followed by “How Do You Get To Carnegie Hall?”

The highlight will be a four-hour concert, “Carnegie Hall: Live At 100! The Gala Celebration.” Bowing May 5, the 7 to 11 p.m. program will be hosted by Beverly Sills and ABC’s Peter Jennings and feature such notables as Placido Domingo, Marilyn Horne, James Levine, Yo-Yo Ma, Zubin Mehta, Jessye Norman, Leontyne Price, Isaac Stern and Pinchas Zukerman.
