Maria C. Schaeffer

Maria C. Schaeffer, 37, who from 1984 until 1989 was v.p. and g.m. of the Sundance Institute, died Jan. 2 in Palo Alto, Calif., of complications from a bone marrow transplant procedure.

Schaeffer was associate producer of the forthcoming Warner Bros. animation feature “Rover Dangerfield,” as well as g.m. of Hyperion Animation Co. in Los Angeles.

She was associate producer of the live-action film “The Runestone, ” to be released this year. From 1979 through 1982, Schaeffer was g.m. of Repertory Dance Theater in Salt Lake City. She received a MFA from the U. of Utah, where she also taught arts administration.

Survived by two sisters and three brothers.
