June LaVere, 87, a longtime actress and extra, died Feb. 7 in Woodland Hills, Calif., of heart problems.

LaVere, whose legal name was Gladys Fry, spent 49 years in the industry, beginning in 1916 at the age of 13 and retiring in 1965.

In the silent era, she appeared in films for D.W. Griffith, the Edison Co. and Famous Players-Lasky. In the sound era, she worked at such studios as MGM, Universal, Columbia and RKO.

She was a life member of the Screen Extras Guild.

No known survivors.
