Frank Steadman, 48, video engineer and telecine film consultant, died Dec. 30 in Burbank, Calif., apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A native of Chicago, Steadman studied film and tv communications at San Francisco State U. and did graduate work at Stanford U.
He was manager of NBC Prods.’ film and tape postproduction department for 10 years before leaving the network last fall to work in the video industry, including a stint at Sunset Post in Glendale. He recently was elected an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
Steadman helped install and operate the first all-color tv facility for the U.S. Army, taught at UCLA and worked at 20th Century Fox and Deluxe Laboratories.
Survived by three children.
