Eileen Sedgwick, 93, vaudevillian and actress in early film serials, died March 15.
Sedgwick toured with her family in vaudeville as Baby Eileen, in the Five Sedgwicks. Her brother was director Edward Sedgwick. Sister Josie, also deceased, was an actress.
In 1915, the family came to Hollywood. She starred in 12 serials at Universal, including “The Lure Of The Circus” (1918), “The Great Radium Mystery” (1919), “The Diamond Queen” (1921) and “Terror Trail” (1921).
She retired from films in 1929 and married Clarence Hutson, a 20th Century Fox executive who died in 1950.
Survived by her son, Edward Hutson, manager of the art department at Fox, and five grandchildren.
