Dott Bossi Jackson, 85, keyboardist, died Jan. 29 in Kansas City.
She was born in Elkton, Mo., and played piano for silent movies in Humansville, Mo., in the early 1920s. She developed a reputation in the Joplin area before playing her first engagement in Kansas City in 1952 at Gus’ Restaurant, where she held forth for nine years. She went on to play nearly every major hotel, lounge and nightclub in K.C.
Her longest engagement was of 18 years at the Dixon Inn, and her last was in 1988 at the Howard Johnson Central.
Survived by four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
