Franchise fees of up to 11% will be charged to the new operators of MCA’s Yosemite Park & Curry Co., which was sold to the National Park Foundation as part of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.’s $6.13 billion buyout of MCA.

Under MCA, the fee paid to the National Park Service has been 0.75%. Conservationists have long criticized the low fee. The new 11% fee will take effect in 1993 when the contract with the National Park Foundation expires.
