SABC Names Black To Top $ Post

A black South African has for the first time been appointed to a top post at the state-controlled South African Broadcasting Corp.

Madala Mphalele, a market development director for an advertising company, will be the new controller of SABC’s three channels.

The channels compete with two independent stations in South Africa. TV-2 and TV-3 are carried in indigenous African languages, while TV-4 plays U.S. sitcoms and tv movies.
