Andre Rousselet, chairman of French pay-tv channel Canal Plus, has been named president of Canal Horizons, a network of pay-tv stations in Africa.

CH is a joint venture between Canal Plus and the state-owned media holding company, Sofirad. Channels in Tunisia, Senegal and Gabon are in preparation. Stations in Egypt, Algeria and Cameroon are also planned. Format will be movies, sports, local programs and kidvid. All should begin airing this year.
