Francis Ford Coppola and Winona Ryder, who couldn’t get together for “Godfather III,” are close to teaming up on a new version of “Dracula.” According to sources, Coppola, who’s up for a best director Oscar, has met with Ryder about the project, and she is close to signing on.

Coppola had been developing “Girl Under Glass,” in which he planned to direct and star, but he recently signed with CAA, which has been throwing more commerical stuff his way. “Dracula” was penned by “Hook” scripter Jim Hart. Uli Edel (“Last Exit To Brooklyn”) originally was attached to the film, but exited.
