Spirit says it will release its first internally financed theatrical feature, “Ambition,” in May.
The film is a psychological thriller starring Lou Diamond Phillips.
It was produced Richard E. Johnson and directed Scott D. Goldstein, who founded Spirit in November 1988. Johnson is president of the company; Goldstein is a partner.
Spirit will operate out of its headquarters at 9155 Sunset Blvd. during AFM.
The company also has four films in preparation: “Chicago Streets” and “The Looking Glass,” both thrillers; “Row Your Boat,” a comedy; and “Pendragon,” a period drama.
