Fest Opens With ‘Homicide’

The David Mamet film, “Homicide” will be screened on the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival.

Pic, penned by the director, stars Joe Montegna as a cop who initially denies his Judaism but gets more in touch with his ethnic heritage as the story progresses.

“Homicide” is being offered at the Cannes market by Pressman Film Corp. of Studio City, CA, which produced the film in cooperation with New York-based Cinehaus. Edward R. Pressman, president of Pressman Film, gets producer credit with Michael Hausman of Cinehaus. Ron Rotholz of Cinehaus is executive producer.
