Cannes Stand Pitches Lure Of Deutschland

German regional film bureaus have joined forces attract producers.

A stand called “Focus Germany” will be located in the Gallery of the Royal Bar, operating from 9:00 to 6:00 daily during the Cannes fest. The umbrella stand will unite the separate film offices of Berlin/Brandenburg, repped by Hans Robert Eisenhauer; Hamburg, repped by Dieter Kosslick and Renate Winter; and Nordrhein-Westfalen repped by Frank Hubner.

“Focus Germany” will also provide information about subsidy programs available for lensing in Germany and help prods establish contacts with various film companies and organizations. The project has been organized by Film Fonds Hamburg’s Josef Wutz.

The Munich Film Bureau is not participating in the stand, but will make an appearance at Cannes to promote their city. Present will be bureau topper Eberhard Hauff, Gabriele Pfenningsdorff and Ksenir Protic.
