Calling Ms. Brooks

Editor, VARIETY:

Who owns the rights to the tv series “Our Miss Brooks?” Although this show was enormously popular with both critics and fans, it seems just about the only program from the ’50s that one can find nowhere, VARIETY doesn’t even list it in its recent syndication charts and “OMB” doesn’t seem to be available on cable, homevideo, etc.

Now that we have lost Eve Arden, wouldn’t it be a wonderful tribute to her talent and memory – as well as the abilities of Gale Gordon, Richard Crenna, Bob Rockwell, Jane Morgan and Gloria McMillan – if whoever is hoarding the often excellent series would share it with new generations?

H. Alton Gulfport I Fla.

Editor’s note: Viacom holds rights to “Our Miss Brooks” and is currently selling it through 1992
