The Beatles song hit “Back In The U.S.S.R.” will resurface as title and music for the Largo Intl. film formerly known as “Icons.” Pic was produced in association with Mosfilm and shot entirely in Moscow.

Largo Intl. N.V. acquired the title and music rights from EMI Blackwood Music on behalf of ATV and Maclen Music, Largo prexy Lloyd Levin said.

Fox will handle North American release of the film, which is directed by Deran Sarafian from a script by Lindsay Smith, set against the backdrop of Moscow’s underworld.

Frank Whaley plays an American student who becomes involved with a Soviet woman (Natalya Negoda). Roman Polanski plays a Soviet smuggler.
