Pitt, Evaluated As Film Locale

The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Film Office have initiated a study of the city as a film and tv production location.

The study will evaluate the area’s strengths and weaknesses in attracting the film industry and will make recommendations for future development. Laurie Streiner, a local film and tv director, will conduct the research. The final report will be delivered in April. Nine films were produced in Pittsburgh during 1990, including “The Silence Of The Lambs,” “The $10 Million Getaway” and “The Dark Half.”
