Live Home Video, one of few homevideo companies undergoing expansion, is restructuring its sales force to handle its own product and the addition of the Vestron line.

When the restructuring is complete, Live will have increased its 12-member sales staff to 23, not including the salespeople for Live’s separate Avid Home Entertainment unit.

The Vestron line will have its own six-person sales staff, reporting to Stuart Snyder, senior v.p. of sales at Live Home Video. Heading that operation is Kevin Kasha, director of sales.

“We wanted to give special focus to Vestron product,” said Snyder. “When a single sales force reps too much product, it reaches a point of diminishing returns.”

Live has had a wealth of sales reps from which to choose. In the past year, sales forces at MGM/UA, Vestron, MCEG/Virgin, Trylon and Prism Entertainment were eliminated (though Prism is currently hiring). In recent weeks, there also were sales cut-backs at Media Home Entertainment and J2 Communications.
