First K.C. Film Fest To Honor Altman

The recently formed K.C. Film Commission will host the first Kansas City Film Festival, March 3 to 5, as its first major effort. Fest is being called a “Retrospective,” and is to feature native son Robert Altman and 16 of his feature films.

Altman is due in the third day of the fest to conduct an afternoon workshop and guest at the evening’s $50-per-plate fundraising dinner at the Crown Center Hotel. Commish chairman Jerry Fogel said the fest could become an annual event; –
