NBC-TV’s “The Cosby Show” received five nominations for the 17th annual People’s Choice Awards.
“Ghost,” “Home Alone” and “Pretty Woman” were nominated for favorite motion picture.
The nominations represent the results of a Gallup Organization sample in which those questioned could vote for whomever they wished. Another poll, now underway, asks participants to choose among the nominees.
“The Cosby Show” landed a nomination as favorite comedy series and Bill Cosby was tapped for top male tv performer and all-around male entertainer.
“Cosby” co-star Phylicia Rashad was nominated for female tv performer. The show’s Raven Symone was nominated in the young tv performer category.
The longrunning “Cheers” was nominated for favorite tv comedy series. The show’s Ted Danson received a bid for male tv performer and co-star Kirstie Alley was nominated for the female award.
Alley a fave
Alley, whose motion pictures include the “Look Who’s Talking” films and “Sibling Rivalry,” also popped up in the favorite movie actress category.
The awards will be presented March 11 during a show broadcast by CBS.
