Cannes-Celed

Peter Greenaway’s “Prospero’s Books,” which had been announced as a competition entry at the Cannes Film Festival, won’t make it to the fest after all due to its complex special effects not being completed in time. The adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” is being bruited as a potential Venice Film Festival entry.

Due to early production deadlines for portions of this special Cannes issue, an article appearing on page 101 stating that “Prosper’s Books” will be at the festival is erroneous.
