21st Century Sued For Distrib’n Breach

Cineplex Odeon Canada has sued 21st Century Releasing, claiming it breached a 1989 agreement that granted Cineplex Canadian distribution rights to 21 films.

Among the alleged contract breaches, according to a complaint filed in Los Angeles Federal Court, are failures to make available the films “Captain America” and “Spiderman.” Suit says 21st also broke a promise to distribute “meaningfully” four films in the U.S. before giving them to Cineplex.
