Hemdale Film Corp. is bucking the trend of indies forging output deals with the major by launching its own homevideo division.

Plans are for a 20-person staff to be in place by the fall, including five regional salespeople, sales and marketing veeps and an inhouse art department. Eric Parkinson, who recently ankled AIP Home Video, has been hired as prexy.

Initial release will be a reissue of “The Terminator,” set for June to coincide with the opening of Carolco’s “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.”
