Dealers though well produced, is a less than enthralling pic about a yuppie high-flyer and his glamorous mistress.
Paul McGann is a dollar dealer in a London bank, set for promotion when his superior suicides after a botched deal. To his chagrin, McGann’s boss brings in an outsider over his head, beautiful Rebecca DeMornay, the latest whizkid in the banking business (and the boss’ mistress to boot). Before long, though, McGann is romancing his rival and taking her home for a nightcap in his seaplane, which he parks near Tower Bridge.
Pic’s most interesting character is Derrick O’Connor as a cockney dealer who’s pinkslipped from the bank and sinks into a coke-snorting decline.
