All this fuses into an elegant looking, period romantic charade.

There is one sprightly number as the assorted characters set out for a country dinner that will resolve their complicated love problems. There is a noted promiscuous actress ready to settle down with a steady man and her teenage daughter, a staid lawyer with a young wife of 18 whose marriage has yet to be consummated, plus his son and a fiery army lieutenant, lover of the actress, and his jealous but submissive wife.

Uneven and sometimes slow, pic has good looks.
